Responsible Alcohol Service & Legal Compliance (New Jersey ABC Compliance)

Bartelini and D7 Studio fully comply with all federal, state, and local laws governing the service, sale, and consumption of alcoholic beverages, including the regulations of the New Jersey Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC).
a) Legal Age Requirement
The legal drinking age in the State of New Jersey is 21 years old. All bartending, mixology, and beverage services offered by Bartelini are strictly limited to individuals aged 21 and over. Any person requesting or signing a service agreement that involves the service, purchase, or distribution of alcoholic beverages must be at least 21 years of age at the time of signing. By booking or contracting our services, you confirm that you are of legal drinking age and that any guests consuming alcoholic beverages at your event are also 21 or older.
b) ID Verification Policy
All Bartelini staff, bartenders, and event managers are trained and certified to verify age and identification in accordance with New Jersey ABC and best practices.
We reserve the right to:
Request valid government-issued photo identification (Driver’s License, State ID, Passport, or Military ID) from any guest or client
Request a second form of ID if authenticity is uncertain
Refuse service to anyone unable or unwilling to provide proper identification
Immediately terminate service at any event where underage drinking is suspected or observed
Our employees are empowered to make independent decisions to stop alcohol service when in doubt. These decisions are final and made to ensure compliance with the law.
c) Contractual and Payment Compliance
All contracts, invoices, deposits, and payments related to alcohol-inclusive services must be executed solely by individuals 21 years of age or older. By completing a booking, payment, or agreement with Bartelini, you acknowledge that you meet this requirement and that the event’s responsible organizer or host will ensure compliance with all applicable alcohol laws.
d) Liability and Responsibility Disclaimer
Bartelini and D7 Studio LLC are committed to responsible service practices. However, we are not liable for actions of event attendees or third parties once alcohol has been legally served and handed to a guest aged 21 or older.
Specifically:
We do not assume responsibility for any individual who provides or transfers an alcoholic beverage to a person under 21 years of age.
All liability for such actions rests solely with the individual(s) who engaged in or facilitated the violation.
The event host or contracting party assumes full responsibility for monitoring guests and ensuring compliance with local and state laws at all times.
If an incident occurs involving underage drinking, law enforcement and the New Jersey ABC may pursue penalties or legal action directly against the responsible individual(s) and/or event host, not against Bartelini or its staff, provided we acted in accordance with our verification and service policies.
e) Service Notification and Responsibility
We reserve the right to:
Discontinue service to any guest who appears intoxicated or attempts to procure alcohol for an underage person. The client will be responsible for managing these situations to ensure compliance with all laws and regulations.
Notify the client immediately if any unsafe, unlawful, or irresponsible behavior related to alcohol consumption is observed during the event, and request prompt action to address the situation.
Enforce a zero-tolerance policy for underage drinking, false identification, or disorderly conduct. Should any such incidents arise, we will inform the client right away, and they will be responsible for addressing the matter promptly.
f) Event Organizer’s Responsibility
By hiring Bartelini, the client or event organizer agrees to:
Ensure all guests consuming alcohol are 21 years or older
Cooperate with our staff during ID checks and safety procedures
Accept full responsibility for any violations occurring among their guests or attendees
Bartelini and D7 Studio kindly encourage all guests, as well as event organizers and hosts, to take an active role in ensuring a safe and responsible environment. We recommend that everyone — whether it's family, friends, or acquaintances — be mindful of their actions and look out for one another, especially when alcohol is involved. Promoting collective responsibility helps create a positive experience for everyone.
g) Indemnification Clause
The contracting party agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Bartelini, D7 Studio and their affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from any and all claims, damages, liabilities, or legal costs arising out of:
Violation of state or federal alcohol laws by guests or third parties
Misrepresentation of age or identity
Actions of attendees who become intoxicated or engage in unlawful behavior after service
Client acknowledges that Bartelini complies with NJ ABC regulations and assumes full responsibility for monitoring guests’ legal drinking age and conduct. Bartelini reserves the right to refuse or terminate alcohol service if any violation is suspected.
Alcohol Planning Assistance & Client Responsibility
Bartelini provides Alcohol Planning Assistance as part of our bartending and event coordination services. This service is strictly consultative and designed to help clients plan a safe, compliant, and enjoyable experience.
a) Scope of Service
We assist clients by offering guidance on:
Types and quantities of alcoholic beverages suitable for their event size, duration, and guest count
Recommendations for bar setup, glassware, mixers, and presentation
Responsible service planning consistent with New Jersey ABC and federal alcohol regulations.
However, Bartelini does not sell, purchase, transport, store, or deliver alcoholic beverages
All alcohol procurement, payment, and delivery arrangements must be handled directly by the client or through a licensed vendor or retailer of their choice.
b) Compliance and Liability
By using our Alcohol Planning Assistance, the client acknowledges and agrees that:
Bartelini’s role is limited to event coordination and responsible service only
All alcohol used or consumed at the event has been legally purchased, owned, and delivered by the client or their authorized supplier
Bartelini and D7 Studio are not responsible for any violations of state or federal laws, including transportation, purchase, or possession of alcohol by unlicensed individuals
c) Responsibility for Vendors and Deliveries
If the client engages a third-party vendor or liquor store for delivery:
Bartelini may coordinate delivery timing and logistics as a courtesy, but we do not act as a broker or intermediary in any purchase transaction
The client assumes full responsibility for verifying that their vendor is properly licensed under New Jersey Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) regulations
Any claims, damages, or disputes arising from the purchase, delivery, or quality of alcoholic products are solely between the client and their vendor
d) Legal and Insurance Notice
Bartelini’s insurance and liability coverage extend only to bartending labor, setup, and service operations, and not to the sale, purchase, or transportation of alcohol.
